From Dusk till Dawn the series - Gecko Brothers FTW!

Whoa! Just whoa! The Gecko brothers are bad, bad, bad but oh so good, good, good! Richie and Seth Gecko are trying to make their way to Mexico and rendezvous with Carlos. Just because they robbed a bank, shot a bunch of Texas Rangers and kidnapped a fine upstanding (well, that's debatable) family, doesn't mean they are bad people right?

Richie Gecko, played by Vancouver's Zane Holtz, (you may remember him as Barfbag in the movie Holes) is a little off his rocker...okay fine, a lot. He is the younger brother of Seth and is plagued by visions of Santanico Pandemonium (Vampire Heiress and nudie dancer at the Titty Twister) and also likes to cut the eyes out of his victims...just a little less than all there right?

Seth Gecko, played by DJ Cotrona, is the older brother and has the connections to get him and Richie across the border to Mexico, sort of. He is the brains behind the brothers and looks out for his younger brother at all costs, even when he realizes the dude is just plain cray cray.

Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez, played by Jessie Garcia is hot on their tail and has a fierce determination to off Richie and Seth as retribution for them killing his mentor and partner Earl McGraw, who is played by 80's sex machine Don Johnson

One of the best parts of the show is Wilmer Valderrama as Carlos Madriga. Lordy he plays a fantastic bad guy! He almost makes you believe he is an evil vampire hell bent on taking over. Yikes! He's scary good in this part and you even forget he played the mild mannered half wit Fez in That 70's Show.

I am in total fangirl love with this series. Shooting, killing, explosions, vampires...I just can't get enough! It also has a bar named the Titty Twister and well, that's gotta account for something right?

OFF THE FREAKIN CHARTS! Every one of them!

GAH, I know there is a plot here somewhere but damn if I can't find it under all this testosterone and muscle! Oh, yeah, right...Gecko brothers rip off a bank, kill people and are chased by Texas Rangers, abduct a family and make it to Mexico where Carlos is waiting for one big old happy reunion!
I think if you like this type of show you will really enjoy it. The movie has this heavy cult following and I am pretty sure this series will not let you down.
Season two is coming in 2015!

Hemlock Grove - Yeeeowsa!

Two things about Hemlock Grove right off the bat...

First off, give it time. Around the 8th episode of Season one, you may think to yourself - WTF are they even thinking? But try to stick it out because it get's even weirder...and better!
Secondly, if you don't want to watch characters who are playing high school kids having sex, sometimes kinly sex, then this may not be for you.

It's a Netflix original and with Netflix apparently anything goes. Did I like it? Yeah I kinda loved it, but I am weird and not much bothers me. Lot's of sex, swearing and bloody guts in this one peeps so be warned if you aren't into that stuff.

This horror series is based on the novel by Brian McGreevy and produced by Eli Roth. You can view the first two seasons on Netflix with the third and final season coming in 2015.

Roman Godfrey is played by Bill Skarsgard (Yeah Eric Northman - of True Blood - sexy younger brother! What's with this family and vampires anyhow?) and talk about pretty boy angst! Roman is heir to the Godfrey family's wealth and is also an upir, which is a kind of vampire. He's moody and grumpy and he has that stare that makes people do anything he wants, no really, he can make people do whatever he wants.

Peter Rumancek, played by Landon Liboiron is a roma boy who moves into town just as a wolf (or werewolf) is starting to rip apart various cheerleaders and other hot girls. Funny thing is, Peter is a werewolf, but it isn't him who is killing the girls. Peter is cheeky and witty and just trying to get by. He also rocks the gypsy genes.

Peter and Roman become strained friends and work together to catch the killer while trying to figure out why they are both having the same dreams and being pulled to eat other.

My fav scene of this series is in Season one - When Peter let's Roman watch him change into the wolf.

Olivia Godfrey, the nastiest bitch in town and Roman's darling Upir mother, is played by Famke Janssen. We also meet Letha Godfrey, Roman's cousin, who is apparently knocked up by an angel. Norman Godfrey, Roman's uncle, who is shagging Roman's mom. Roman's sister, Shelley, who is...well, idk what she is but she lights up, so can't be all bad.
We also meet Peter's gypsy mom, Lynda, who is like the coolest pot smoking hippy mom around. Peter's cousin Destiny, who is weird and cool and sexy as all get out and loves Peter dearly.
And last but not least, Dr. Pryce...ohhh Doctor Pryce, what are you doing in the lab at Godrey Industries? Seriously though, what the hell is he doing?

All in all it is weird, strange, sometimes silly and other times amazingly dark but I think it works. It draws you in and keeps you going wtf just happened?
I am happy that they are making a third season and because it is definitely the last, we may finally have some answers to every single frickin thing on this show!

Hotness Meter

Roman Godfrey - 8.5 to 10 (he's gorgeous in a not so typical way, but oh so young and I feel kinda cougarish watching some of the more naughty scenes with him. Although I certainly ain't looking away, if you get my drift *wink*)
Peter Rumancek - 9.5 (another young one, but adorbs and cheeky so it's kind of okay to think he's hot...right?)

So....just watch the damn show and figure it out for yourself because I can only tell you that I really liked it but it's not for everyone.

Arrow - Not your typical comic character!

Oh my, (fans face) Stephen Amell, just yum!

Arrow is based on the DC comics character Green Arrow. Oliver Queen was stranded on an island for five years after a ship wreck. He was the only survivor, although not all of them went down with the ship. The sister of his girlfriend at the time was on board for a little hanky panky with the billionaire playboy Oliver and unfortunately she didn't make it. Cue sexual drama right off the bat!
His father was apparently into some pretty nasty shit and Oliver takes it upon himself to get his city back from the scourge that has taken it over if he ever gets off the island.

Once he has been rescued, he is hell bent on getting Starling City back to rights, one shady business guy at a time. His cute bff Tommy Merlyn, played by Colin Donnell, has a love triangle thing going with Oliver's ex-girlfriend Laurel Lance played by Katie Cassidy. (Yeah, the sister to the one he was shagging on the doomed boat cruise.)

I gotta give props to this series because:
A; it's filmed in Vancouver, which is a swim across the pond from me.
B: Oliver makes bows and arrows really sexy. Even when he is chasing the bad guys, he is still pretty damn hot.
C: You don't feel like you are watching a DC Comic come to life. It actually has a great plot and is never boring, repeated crap that I've come to expect with adapts of comics.
D: Even though Oliver has a billion bucks, he is still a regular guy with problems. (Yeah a real nice guy, when he's not shooting arrows into people's knee caps!)

Ollie - 10, smokin hotness!
Tommy - 8.5 almost smokin!
Diggle - 8.5 almost smokin!

So yeah it's a good series. I'm only finishing season two as we speak and have enjoyed it so far. It's something us ladies can watch with the dude in our lives and not have to hear him yabber on about the chick drama.

What's on reviews!

Welcome to my Comfy Couch, where I share with you my reviews of what's on Netflix.
What you should watch and what's not worth the time.
I really like horror and fantasy, but won't turn down a good chick flick and a teen drama. In fact I think I would watch just about anything, as long as I can watch all the seasons at once.

For us ladies I will also be doing the male hotness scale. Cause if you are like me, you base a review on the hotness of the male charactors! (Come on, I am not the only girl out there that does that!)
If he's easy on the eyes, who cares about the plot FFS!
Okay, just kidding...sorta.
